Transcript for "RPAG: The Practice Operating System for Growth-Minded LPL Advisors":
Welcome everyone. Let's get started. As a retirement advisor with LPL, business growth is just not going to come from ambition alone. If wanting to grow is enough, then you just need a box of Red Bull and Whiteboard and you'd be off to the races. We know it takes more. Growth comes from combining the right fiduciary rigor with four key ingredients. You need great infrastructure, excellent business processes, your own market differentiators, and your best practices for scaling in sales. And that's why I'm excited about what RPAG brings. I'm Chris Hall, and I lead the growth motion for RPAG, part of the Great Gray Group. RPAG exists to help advisors like you fully realize your own power to grow. We bring an integrated practice operating system, which is designed for you to unlock the growth in your own practice, from prospecting to proposals to client service workflows to institutional grade fiduciary frameworks. RPAG provides you with the foundation you need for a disciplined, efficient, and scalable practice. And membership in RPAG brings much more than prospecting and operational efficiency. RPAG members also get access to a suite of exclusively priced CIGs. Having well priced CITs is designed to help advisors like you win more in investment value as well as with your own practice differentiators. You don't have to manage a spaghetti tangle of disconnected systems, of memorized passwords and spreadsheets just to grow your business. Why RPAG is here is because we offer something fundamentally different. It's a unified platform to give you a strategic advantage in a framework that will help your business operate and grow. And today, we'll show it all to you in practice. So with all that said, it's my pleasure to introduce Robert Glass. Robert joins us with a really impressive track record of supporting advisors, including almost ten years of investment. He's an account executive here at RPAG and focused on supporting LPL. And together, we're all looking forward to introduce more about each of your practices and how we can help you use RPAG to reach your own growth goals. Now, I'm finally going to do what a good growth leader is supposed to do, and I'm gonna stop talking and hand it over to Rob. Mr. Glass. Thank you, Chris, and thank you everyone for joining today. Let's talk about how RPAG has proven to help advisers like you grow their business and operate more efficiently. The opportunity in this market is significant. More than half of plan sponsors may be looking to change advisors, and 70% of those plan sponsors are actively trying to reduce plan costs. Growth isn't limited by demand. It's about execution. At RPAG, we don't believe growth comes from working harder. In our experience, it comes from working smarter. The advisors who we see thriving are the ones that have systems working together from prospecting through plan management. To achieve all this, growth minded advisers across the country run on RPAG, the complete operating system that supports all of their practice workflows. RPAG is now an approved vendor within the LPL ecosystem, available at special negotiated rates. Our integrated platform includes proposal solutions, analytics, scoring, reporting, and fiduciary tools, all in one operating system. Plus, membership includes access to our suite of exclusively priced collective investment trusts, also known as CITs, a competitive advantage available only to RPAG members. I can tell you that for our members, the results are real and measurable. Advisors using RPAG have grown their plan count by an average of 40% over four years. Let me say that one more time. Advisors using RPAG have grown their plan count by an average of 40% over four years. RPAG empowers advisors like you to operate with the speed and sophistication of a much larger firm, helping you work and scale with precision. So how does this all look in practice? Here's just one example of how an RPAG member grew her book of business from two plans to 68 plans. She didn't grow by adding complexity or working longer hours. She grew by tapping into RPAG's power and using it to support her goals for efficiency and scale. 200,000,000 in AUM, 47% annual growth, increased referrals, and reoccurring revenue. These are real results. Alright. Time for the main event. Let's show you how the platform works. It's a robust and powerful tool, and you're going to see a lot. As we go, listen for the specific issues your practice is facing. What are your pain points? Is it benchmarking, reporting, annual reports, quarterly reports from various resources, data, speed for revenue, fiduciary frameworks, or just growth in general, perhaps maybe a little bit of everything. Whatever your challenges are, you'll see how RPAG can help you solve them. Now I wanna introduce Brooke, a solutions engineer and my colleague here at RPAG. Brooke knows the platform inside and out, and advisors like you absolutely love having conversations with her. She's consultative. She started her career here on our live support desk working directly with advisors like you, so she knows the day to day needs and challenges you're facing. She attended UCLA where she majored in math, so she brings a strong analytical approach to everything she does. Brooke, now over to you. Hi, everyone. It's a pleasure to be here today. Thank you, Robert, for the great introduction, and thank you all for your time and attendance. Today, we're going to walk through a day in the life of an adviser with a heavy focus on prospecting and also current plan management. We have a lot to get through. So with that, let's jump right in. Alright. Picture this. It's 10AM, and you finished your morning triage and second cup of coffee. Now, you're ready to win new business. When you log in to RPAG, you have a great dashboard that oversees your current plans. You've been working with a prospect and you've built out their profile in the system. Locating the prospect is easy and within their page, you'll be able to see all the different data you've collected and stored over time. As you continue your conversations with your prospects, you can store more and more data, especially if you have a very complete 5,500 form, you can add that all in here as well. So, let's talk a little bit about next steps. You want to get your foot in the door. It's a bit early in the conversation, so you know the report you're going to run is Plan Fs Prism. Plan Fs Prism is a fast, easy, and accurate fee benchmarking report that you can run for prospects and current clients alike. When we go into Plan Fuse Prism, we'll really see how quick it is. So, let's count the clicks. We're already at one for entering the report and we see that all of our information is already in here. If it's very early in the prospecting cycle, don't worry about these fees. You really only need your assets and participants to actually run this report. You can even toggle between basis points and dollar amounts, although both will appear in the final output. Our second click is to create the benchmark. Here, we'll see a table appear below us. We'll notice that we have just over 3,800 different plans. And we can ask, where does this data come from? RPAG has two RFP tools. The larger tool is called the Provider Analysis. In this, you can send out your plan to your incumbent to fill out current pricing. We anonymize and collect this incumbent current pricing and then organize it into this universe. You can be assured that you're looking at accurate and up to date numbers. You can also adjust these universe bounds by adding or subtracting, from the assets or including plan participants. Like Rob mentioned, I was a math major. We can discuss sample size and statistical significance, but let's save that for another time. We can also include different modules or different features within our final output. We have our twenty fifth, fiftieth, and seventy fifth percentile available. We can also exclude certain areas if we would like. If you have a support team that's running this on your behalf, they can always put your name on. And our third and final click is to just download the report. I have a sample pulled up for us all ready to go. A few things to note is that this is only five pages. That's a really easy number on your printer and it's a great leave behind for your prospects. Five pages is not a lot to ask, especially when two of them are your title and disclosures. Our first page opens with a real dollar amount to speak to your Plan Sponsor about what exactly they have in their plan and what's going on. Plan Sponsors like to know where they stand in comparison to their peers, and this is the report for it. I mentioned that this is also great for your current clients, especially if you're in between those RFP years. You can show them that they're right on track. For your prospecting, you can show them that maybe they're not quite as on track as they should be. The last page is a very clear basis point representation of the differences in fees across the different percentiles in comparison to your plan. Alright, it is now 10:05 and you've sent this report to your prospect and you're ready to, get on with your day. You've won some time back before your 11:00 meeting, and you're going to capitalize on it by getting your next cup of coffee and tending to those flagged emails. After lunch, your very engaged prospect has already responded from your Plan Fuse Prism report. They've noticed that they have a really high fee for investment and record keeping, and they're looking to you for a solution. You know the next report you're going to run is RFP Express. RFP Express is an instant proposal tool where you can get quotes or live quotes from top record keepers in just a few minutes. We'll see again when we enter this report, all of our prospects' information that we've already entered has pulled in. This saves time on manual repetitive data entry. We can start new reports or view ones that we've started and always hop back in to make changes to existing reports. So, let's take a look. Within this, we'll see our instant quotes that are available for our plan. Again, we work with top providers over 33 different record keepers, and we have hundreds of quotes available across bundled, unbundled, traditional, exchange, PEPs, and MEPS are all available. So, let's take a look at this first quote option. When we click on option details, we'll see that we have our record keeping fee here, our investment fee as well, and then a total. We'll also notice that this quote comes with an Express lineup. Many quotes in RFP Express have these express lineups with your exclusive RPAG member CITs. These CITs are available only for RPAG members and at discounted pricing. You can easily select these different quotes and compare them. But let's say maybe you have a preferred investment list that you're already using, maybe you have a three thirty eight list that you want to explore, you can also look for quotes that have this add investment expense option. These quotes are open architecture, so they're priced around the assumption that you're going to be retaining whatever your investment fee currently is, so this is a purely record keeping cost. This is also helpful for some prospects that are maybe a bit more cautious around their investments. Just showing them the record keeping fee is still a great option for your quote. Let's say we're going through all of our different Instant Quotes and we're looking for a specific provider, but we're not quite seeing them just yet. If we don't have an instant quote from our provider, we can always request a custom quote. Custom quotes, down here at the bottom, typically have a twenty four hour turnaround time. So, if you don't see a provider that has an instant quote or maybe they don't have quite the offering you're looking for, you can always come down here and request an instant or a custom quote. Here, you'll choose the administration type, pick the platform or leave it to the provider, and this is where you could specifically ask for an open architecture quote if you don't see it in their initial offerings. Until you click this request and compare quotes, no record keepers are notified, so you can always come back, add or remove different quotes, and you can do that after you pass this step as well. In an effort to not send more test emails to our partners, I'm going to show an output that I already have pulled for us. We'll see that this report is just over 20 pages, so a bit longer than our Plan Fuse Prism report. I typically see these between 15 to 30 pages depending on how many quotes you select and how many have open architecture versus those, custom RPAG CIT lineups. So, let's take a look at the content. We open with a benchmarking process and methodology as well as our plan assumptions to keep everyone on the same page. Then next, we'll have a provider summary. Let's say they have an incumbent provider that you know you're not going to work with or they really want to get away from after seeing your plan fees Prism report, you can always exclude them from this final output. The same goes for the plan fees average. This is another optional inclusion in your report. That's that median number that we saw before that can pull in side by side with all the different quotes. You're able to see a very similar table breakdown, again, in basis points, dollar amounts, and even a per participant cost. After fee details, we'll see also administration, and service provider comparisons, as well as comparisons of their investment, opportunities and lineups. Then we'll see our actual lineups from our different Express quotes. And it finishes with provider summaries and provider disclosures. Again, this report is run-in just a few minutes. It's flexible, customizable, and ready for you whenever you need it. Now that we've run our report, we're ready to send it back to our prospects. We know they're going to be excited about the speed and quality of service we're offering. We can be assured that the rest of this deal is smooth sailing from here on out. The rest of your day consists of various tasks and to dos and you're going to have to fit them in between all of your afternoon meetings. But, with RPAG, you can knock these out pretty quick. Our first task is going to be signing our new prospect. Earlier this week, we had another successful meeting. We've earned a new prospect that we had entered in the system. So, how can we get them into this client page? RPAG offers a one click conversion from client to prospect profiles in the portal. This means that you don't have to re enter all of your data. Everything is going to flip over, all of your reports that you've run, all of the notes you've stored, all the contacts you made, it's all going to be preserved as you now put them into the clients. Once you've switched them over to clients, you're ready to start PAL. PAL, or Plan Asset Link, is the link between Record Keepers and your plans in the portal. Through Powell, we're able to receive plan level data from top record keepers. We work with over a 100 different providers, including those that report to third parties like Schwab, Matrix, and Mid Atlantic. This data can be synced automatically to come in, every month without you needing to touch it. It'll refresh on its own. PAL is a one time, one form per plan setup and you'll have a dedicated concierge team to walk you through if you have any questions along the way. With PAL, you no longer need to reach out to any relationship managers or support desks. Your plan data is already there and all ready for you to go and run your reports. That was an easy task to cross off our list. Our next task is related to meeting minutes. We had an investment review on Monday, and now it's time to get, our documentation in place. We'll go to our client page, and we'll see all of our information, again, is stored and all of our plans down below. In this plan, this is what it'll look like when our plan is linked with PAU. It is a junk link because this is a demo account, so I won't click on it. But this is where you would be able to see the differences in your assets over time from last month's feed to the current month's feed as well. Meeting minutes are an easy report to knock out in RPAG as they're automated. So when you run your investment reviews through RPAG, the system is then able to read that review and write your meeting minutes with templated formats. So let's take a look. Starting meeting minutes is easy. We'll choose our report, give it a name, and click create meeting minutes. From here, we'll select contacts that we already have saved and we'll see a checklist available for us as well as custom sections to add in commentary. These next sections are ones that auto fill in, So, we don't need to rewrite the whole report we've already made. Everything is already in here. We can include things like fund reviews, maybe we touched on education, we can include comments for that. Your demographics and plan fees also pull in from your report. You can even add custom sections and save them into a template. One of the most common custom sections I see advisors make is for committee decisions. This is an easy way to keep a clean callout area for next steps. Speaking of next steps, you can also create follow-up tasks and assign them to yourself or your colleagues. These tasks appear on your landing page so you always are up to date on what you need to do next. Let's take a look at a generated output. So, again, we can see our client logos pulling in, our attendees are pulling in, we have our summaries available as well. And these are all editable, so if you want to add extra commentary, you can as well. Here's our Committee Decision section, some Governance and Education, as well as Limits. We'll notice that this is four pages. If you prefer your meeting minutes a bit shorter, you can always cut this down by limiting what modules you include or tailoring down the automated sections. If you want to learn more about meeting minutes, there's also a webinar available on this on our site. Especially if you want to hear me talk for another thirty minutes, it's a great one to check out. Alright. We've crossed another task off our list and the last one to do is to look for marketing material that's going to work for both prospects and current clients alike. We're in our PHE, but maybe we're a little stuck. We don't quite remember this from our onboarding. Luckily, we have Otto right here in the top right corner. Otto is our new AI assistant that launched earlier this year. Otto is very good at FAQ style questions and will become more agentic in future versions. So, let's ask Otto where we can find marketing material. Otto is going to think about the question and then direct us to the right place. Otto is suggesting going to the Resource Center and has even given us suggestions for helpful sections to look under. So, thank you, Otto. Let's take a look at the Resource Center next. We'll navigate here and we'll see a massive repository of hundreds of documents, everything from flyers and handouts to more in-depth educational pieces and presentations. This is all available for you and it's all white labeled as well. That means you can put your own branding on it. Let's take a look at the section auto suggested for newsletters and memos. These are produced by our team and come out on a quarterly and monthly basis. They are plan sponsor facing and also participant facing. These, again, are white labeled and ready for you to put your own branding on. You might notice too that throughout the portal there are little briefcase icons that are ready for you to click on. This is related to the Fiduciary Briefcase. The Fiduciary Briefcase is a secure cloud based storage system that you can set up for your clients and give your Plan Sponsors direct access to. Anything you upload into the Briefcase, your Plan Sponsor can see and download, but they can't delete from it and they can't upload anything themselves. You have full control of what they have in there. You can also add in documents outside the portal. So, if you have four zero eight b two b disclosures, other notes from the Recordkeeper that you want to include, you're absolutely welcome to upload those external files too. When you're looking for marketing and publishing this across clients, it's really easy to do it all in one go. There's no need to go into every client or send out an individual email to every plan sponsor. You can put it into everyone's briefcase all at once and hit upload. You can even turn on automatic email notifications. So, whenever there's a new document in the briefcase, your Plan sponsor is notified that they have some new material from you to look at. Our last step has been a breeze as well. We've gone through all of our different tasks. We just have a handful of afternoon meetings left. So, this means we can probably sneak out a little earlier and make it to our daughter's soccer game. Thank you again for your time. I'll pass it back over to Rob. I know we have some closing slides as well, and some time for questions too. Thanks so much, Brooke. Truly appreciate it. That was a fantastic tour. Hopefully, you now have a better sense of all the ways RPAG can help you operate more efficiently and grow your business. We saw how the platform streamlines workflows with data integrations and automation. We saw how RPAG can fuel your prospecting efforts. We saw how it can help you shore up your fiduciary frameworks and make your client relationships stickier. And maybe most importantly, we saw how RPAG is built to help drive better plan outcomes, which is why we're all in this business to begin with. Of course, because you and our industry are constantly moving forward, so are we. The platform you just saw is getting better every week. As Brooke mentioned, auto was will soon be agentic. These are just some of the enhancements on our road map. More automation, deeper compliance monitoring, cross systems data syncs, better outcomes, smarter sales and prospecting solutions, and improved user experiences. As powerful as RPAG already is, so much more is yet to come. We've talked a lot about scale today, and I wanted to close by quickly putting some data behind that. RPAG member advisers manage about $1,250,000,000,000 in plan assets across more than a 120,000 plans and 10,000,000 participants. What these numbers all mean is that when you join RPAG, you're tapping into a community and platform built to help you grow and succeed, not to mention our annual conference here in Southern California. As a next step from here, we invite you to schedule a one on one consultation. Brooke and I love chatting with advisers and learning about their pain points and helping solve for them. We'll talk about your unique challenges and goals, see how RPAG might help. So scan the scan one of the QR codes today to schedule a one on one demo. Or if you're attending RPAG in Arizona next week, we'd love to see you there, and we're offering a few remaining spots for a golf outing. I'll turn it over to Brooke for just a couple of questions from the audience. We've got an audience member interested in prospecting specifically, and they already subscribe to a 5,500 search database such as Larkspur or Judy Diamond. Is that integrated within the platform? That's a great question. So we do have a partnership with Larkspur that you can single sign on in through the RPG portal. You even get discounted pricing for Larkspur from us. It's, again, an easy setup. And if you have an existing account, we can work with you to get that in place. Great. Thanks, Brooke. We've got another LPL advisor that currently uses the 12 scoring system. Is that available within RPAG? Yes, RPAG does have a 12 system built into the portal. LPL advisors are approved to use both twelve point and ten point scoring systems, but you can choose whichever one you'd like. Correct. And how about what makes us different from competitors that LPL advisors are already using? Someone's asking. I would say one of the biggest differences is a very holistic approach to your practice management. We saw in this demo that we have a ton of great prospecting tools, especially when it comes to benchmarking and RFPs. We also took a look at a lot of efficiency tools, such as our meeting minutes that are automated and easy to generate in just a few moments. We saw our AI assistant that could help us with any questions. We also saw a massive repository of customizable resources. And we even have these different checklists available for us as well. RPAG approaches your practice management with a broad overview, not just solely RFP, not just solely investment reviews, but everything in one secure place. With RPAG, it's easy to navigate between your prospects and clients and work throughout at different systems. Great. That was super helpful, Brooke. And that's all the questions we have today. So thanks again, everyone, for joining. We look forward to chatting with you all individually, and please take our survey on today's demo. We value your feedback. Thanks again.
